C.J. Stroud Makes Incredible Recruiting Pitch For Ohio State Football

Ohio State fans are not looking forward to tonight’s national championship game, with arch rival Michigan one win away from a title.

However, hours before the Wolverines face the Washington Huskies at NRG Stadium in Houston, Ohio State alum and current Houston Texans rookie star C.J. Stroud gave Buckeye fans something to feel good about.

On “The Pat McAfee Show,” Stroud touted OSU head coach Ryan Day’s offensive prowess, saying it helped prepare him for the next level.

“If you put on the tape, even from college, you can’t play at Ohio State, under Coach Day, who is a world-renowned offensive coordinator, play caller,” Stroud said. “His offense is pretty deep when it comes to being knowledgeable. You have to know everything. I even had more responsibilities in college then I do now in this scheme.”

Ohio State fans are understandably down on Day after three straight losses to Michigan, but it does seem likely he played a major role in Stroud’s development.

The No. 2 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, Stroud passed for 4,108 yards, 23 touchdowns and only five interceptions as a rookie, leading the Houston Texans to a 10-7 record and surprising AFC South title.

In 2024, Day will try to maximize Kansas State transfer quarterback Will Howard, who announced his commitment to the Buckeyes last week.
