Chip Kelly is reportedly in the process of leaving UCLA for Ohio State.
Per ESPN’s Pete Thamel, Ohio State is targeting Kelly to be the school’s next offensive coordinator after Bill O’Brien reportedly left for Boston College. O’Brien would be replacing Jeff Hafley after he took a job with the Green Bay Packers to be their defensive coordinator.
O’Brien had only been Ohio State’s OC for a few weeks before being sought out for this gig.
Sources: Ohio State is expected to target UCLA coach Chip Kelly as the school’s next offensive coordinator. A deal could come together as soon as today.

Kelly has been the head coach at UCLA for the past six seasons and has compiled a 35-34 overall record. He led UCLA to an 8-5 overall record this past season and has won 25 games in his last three seasons as head coach.
Assuming a deal with OSU works out, he’ll bring his offense to Columbus as the program tries to get back to the College Football Playoff next season.
The Buckeyes finished the 2023 season with an 11-2 record.
