College GameDay Announces Week 7 Destination For Top 10 Matchup

October 7, 2024 by The Spun

Predicting Every College GameDay Location For The 2024 Season (1:01)

We all hope that College GameDay analyst Lee Corso is able to make it to next week’s show because he’ll have the opportunity to pick between two of his favorite mascots for his iconic headgear selection.

ESPN’s College GameDay made its first-ever appearance at the UC-Berkeley campus this week for the big ACC tilt between Cal and Miami. For Week 7, they’ll be staying on the West Coast of the United States for a battle of Big Ten teams in the top 10. They are heading up north to Eugene, Oregon to see the Oregon Ducks host the Ohio State Buckeyes.

It will be only the 11th meeting between the two college football powerhouses and the first in Eugene since 1967. Their most recent meeting was a regular season game in Columbus back in 2021 that saw the Ducks come out on top.

Oregon are now members of the Big Ten Conference and there’s little doubt that Ohio State will be looking to avenge that 2021 loss.

Oregon were ranked No. 6 this week and made quick work of Michigan State in a 31-10 win. They could rise into the top five this coming week depending on how some other games play out.

As for the Ohio State Buckeyes, they were a bit slow to start against Iowa today but exploded for 21 points in the third quarter to win the game 35-7. They might rise as high as No. 2 in the country (also depending on other results).

The last top 10 matchup we had featuring was an absolute barn burner. Let’s hope this one is the same.
