Ohio State officially announced the hiring of new athletic director Ross Bjork on Tuesday.
Bjork will be taking over for Gene Smith, who is retiring after 18 seasons. Once he takes over for Smith in July, he’ll start a five-year contract that’s worth $2 million per year, per Eleven Warriors.

Eleven Warriors also reports that $1.65 million of that money will be his base salary and the remaining $350K will be media, promotions, and public relations.
Bjork comes to Ohio State after spending the last five years at Texas A&M as the school’s AD. Before that, he was the AD at Ole Miss from 2012-19 and has also been the AD at Western Kentucky.
His task will be overseeing all of OSU’s athletics and making sure they can be among the best in the country.
