Ohio State didn’t even wait 24 hours after Michigan won the national championship to announce that it’ll host tryouts for walk-ons.
In order to be eligible for Ohio State’s tryouts, there are a few requirements each athlete must meet, such as being a full-time student on the main campus. An interest meeting will take place on Feb. 1 at the Woody Hayes Athletic Center.
Since the Buckeyes posted this announcement on X, the responses to this news were mostly of the sarcastic variety.

“On my way,” an Ohio State fan said. “I’ll protect Will Howard and Quinshon Judkins.”

Another fan replied, “I have eligibility.”
“I would 100% put in a better shift than some of these 5 stars,” a third fan claimed.

Arguably the best reaction to Ohio State’s announcement came from Omaha Productions, an entertainment company founded by Peyton Manning.
If you need someone who can sling it and runs a 5.48, we know a guy @OhioStateFB https://t.co/coZ2KtIUSw pic.twitter.com/h9VUpAyng8

Ohio State finished the 2023 season with an 11-2 record. The two losses were to Michigan and Missouri.
Fans in Columbus won’t settle for another season like that, make no mistake about it.
