As expected, Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud took home his first piece of NFL hardware on Thursday night.
Stroud was named Offensive Rookie of the Year at the annual NFL Honors, nearly winning the honor unanimously. He received 48 of 50 first-place votes, with Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua earning the other two.
The No. 2 overall pick in the 2023 draft out of Ohio State, Stroud was a star from his first game in the league, establishing himself as one of the rising stars in the NFL.
“I want to thank Ohio State, [head] coach [Ryan] Day, [offensive analyst] Todd Fitch and a ton of Buckeyes out here that have given me nothing but support and showed a young kid some love 2,000 miles from home,” Stroud said in his acceptance speech, which you can see in full below.

Stroud threw for 4,108 yards, 23 touchdowns and only five interceptions as a rookie, leading the Texans to the AFC South title and the Divisional Round of the AFC playoffs.
He is the sixth OSU product to win either Offensive or Defensive Rookie of the Year in the last eight seasons, joining Garrett Wilson, Chase Young, Nick Bosa, Marshon Lattimore and Joey Bosa.
