You ask, we answer. Sometimes we ask, others answer. And then other times, we ask, we answer.
Throughout the year, we will be asking and answering questions about various Ohio State teams, the players, and anything else on our collective minds of varying degrees of importance. If you have a question that you would like to ask, you can tweet us @LandGrant33 or if you need more than 280 characters, send an email HERE.
Preseason camp officially starts for the Buckeyes tomorrow, so while we still have a chance, we are throwing down the gauntlet with On the Record Week here at Land-Grant Holy Land. We are getting all of our best takes on the record this week before the Buckeyes actually get on the field.
So, in this week’s fan survey, we are going to make it simple by asking Buckeye Nation how they think the Ohio State football regular and postseasons will end. So, check out the questions in the article, and then scroll down to the survey underneath. If you want to explain your votes, you can also feel free to do so in the comments at the bottom of the page.
We will reveal the results this weekend, so make sure to check back with LGHL to see how your fellow Buckeye fans feel about the season to come.
Question 1: What will Ohio State’s regular season record be?
At first, I was tempted to not include anything worse than 5-7 (even though there is no chance barring something cataclysmic of that happening), because the Buckeyes are the only program in the Football Bowl Subdivision to have never lost eight games in a single season. And, the only time they lost seven was in that bogus, NCAA-sanction bullshit season of 2011.
Anyway, as I look at the schedule, I think that there are five games that Ohio State could legitmately lose without it being considered a world-shocking upset (Texas, Washington, Illinois, Penn State, Michigan), but I certainly wouldn’t predict OSU to lose all five (or any) of those games.
So, what do you have?
Question 2: How will Ohio State’s season end?
Now, the way I see it, there are two ways to approach this question, as a diehard Ohio State fan, or as someone who wants to be right. Now, as we saw last season, those two things are not mutually exclusive, but the approaches will have to be different.
As a Buckeye homer, I will be taking the back-to-back titles option, but we know how difficult it is to win two consecutive national titles, especially when you have a record-setting number of players taken in the NFL Draft.
So, which way are you leaning? The unlikely national title, or the more realistic loss in the semis?
