Kyle McCord Predicts Ohio State Receiver Will Follow Him To Syracuse

Kyle McCord raised some eyebrows when transferring from Ohio State and Syracuse. He doesn’t think he’ll be the only player to make that switch.

The quarterback discussed his transfer during an appearance on The QB Room. During the podcast, Kyle Allen and Jordan Palmer asked McCoy a series of “more or less” questions. They set the over/under line at 0.5 pass-catchers following him from Ohio State to Syracuse.

“I’m gonna say more,” McCord answered.

McCord didn’t pick anyone specifically, but one can go out on a limb and say it won’t be Marvin Harrison Jr. When asked if he thought more or less than 3.5 NFL wide receivers are better than his former star teammate, McCord initially went under.

After naming Justin Jefferson, Stefon Diggs, and Ja’Marr Chase, McCord demurred when the hosts brought up other NFL superstars such as Tyreek Hill, Davante Adams, CeeDee Lamb, and A.J. Brown.

McCord tallied 3,170 passing yards, 24 touchdowns, and six interceptions during his junior year with the Buckeyes. He explained his decision to leave the Big Ten powerhouse.

“It’s a business,” McCord said. “At the end of the day, Ohio State had to make a business decision they felt was best for them, and I had to do the same thing. Unfortunately, it just wasn’t meant to be for next year.”

McCord said he’s known Syracuse head coach Fran Brown, who is also from New Jersey, since middle school and believes he can be the missing piece for the Orange to make a splash in 2024.

“They said that with the guys they’re going to bring in and some of the guys they’re bringing back, we’re going to be able to make a serious run at it,” McCord said. “Their recruiting pitch was, ‘Listen, we’re a quarterback away from being a serious contender in the ACC this year.’ I looked at the schedule and I saw it, and I think it’s true. There’s definitely an opportunity for us to go out and win some games.”

McCord also predicted another national title for Syracuse. Perhaps he’ll receive some help from a former Buckeyes teammate or two.
