LeBron James went straight from high school to the NBA, going No. 1 overall to the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2003 Draft.
But what if LeBron would’ve gone to college?
LeBron has maintained throughout his career that he likely would’ve gone to Ohio State. The Akron, Ohio native remains a Buckeyes fan and is often spotted at football games in the fall. LeBron also has his own locker inside of Ohio State’s basketball arena.
However, if you cross Ohio State off of LeBron’s hypothetical list, the NBA legend would’ve been down to two schools:
- Duke
- North Carolina

LeBron played for Coach K on Team USA in the Olympics, so it would’ve been cool to see him do the same at the college level.
Of course, it also would’ve been fun if he had followed in Michael Jordan’s footsteps at North Carolina.
Ohio State fans have the biggest “what if?” hypothetical, though, because that’s really where LeBron would’ve played.
