During this past Sunday’s graduation ceremony at Ohio State, a woman fell to her death. She was later identified as Larissa Brady.
“The Franklin County Coroner confirmed that 53-year-old Larissa Brady was the person who tragically died Sunday at Ohio State’s commencement. She was positively ID’d by fingerprints today,” George Shillcock of WOSU News wrote on X. “No word on the manner of her death yet from OSUPD or the Coroner.”
The Columbus Dispatch is reporting that Brady’s death is being investigated as an “apparent suicide.”
Brady’s daughter was one of the seniors who graduated from Ohio State this year. They apparently had a conversation at Ohio Stadium before the ceremony officially started.
The Ohio State community is incredibly saddened by what transpired over the weekend.
“Ohio State is grieving the death of Larissa Brady, a family member of one of our graduates,” university spokesperson Benjamin Johnson said. “Our hearts go out to her family and friends during this exceptionally difficult time.”
Ohio State has already contacted all graduates and staff members from last weekend’s ceremony to see if they need any counseling services.
The Franklin County Coroner’s Office should have another update on this tragedy at a later time.
