Dwayne Haskins’ first throw as an Ohio State Buckeye is making the rounds on social media.
Haskins abruptly passed away on Saturday morning after he was hit by a dump truck on I-595 down in South Florida. He was just 24 years old and was down in Florida with some of his Steelers teammates getting some work in during the offseason.
An Ohio State fan posted the clip on Twitter as Haskins was coming in for the first time in his collegiate career. JT Barrett had to come out of the game with a knee injury and that meant Haskins had to lead the Buckeyes to the win.
Ohio State was trailing 20-14 at the time before Haskins led the offense to 17 unanswered points. The Buckeyes ended up winning, 31-20.
Here was one of the throws that turned the game in the right direction:

Haskins finished that season with 565 yards and four touchdown passes.
He then went on to have an amazing sophomore campaign in 2018 when he finished with 50 touchdowns and eight interceptions off of 4,831 yards passing.
Haskins then went on to play for both Washington and most recently with Pittsburgh during his NFL career.
Our thoughts go out to the Haskins family and all those close to him during this tragic time.
