No. 12 Oregon and No. 3 Ohio State are currently locked in a tightly-contested contest in Ohio Stadium.
The Ducks’ offense got off to a hot start, marching the ball down the field on a 99-yard touchdown drive to start the game. And so far, the Oregon defense has also done a solid job of slowing down C.J. Stroud and the explosive Ohio State offense.
At least that was the case until an embarrassing play from a Ducks defender.
On first-and-10 inside Oregon’s 30-yard line, Stroud was able to find junior wide receiver Garrett Wilson wide open down the right sideline for a touchdown. Replay after the scoring play then showed why the Buckeyes wideout was all on his own.
Sophomore cornerback Mykael Wright was checking his wristband for a play call when Wilson blew right past him.

Despite this mistake, the Ducks were able to recover and respond with a touchdown of their own on the following possession — reclaiming a 14-7 lead. The Ducks defense overall, even without star players Kayvon Thibodeaux and Justin Flowe, has been stout in the first half.
Heading into the half with a one-touchdown lead, Oregon will bottle up the Buckeyes’ offense even more in the second.
But, with the talent on Ohio State’s offensive unit, the Ducks can’t afford any more mistakes like this one if they want to claim an upset victory.
