Former Ohio State wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. is taking an unconventional approach to this year’s draft process, that’s for sure.
Earlier this week, Harrison announced that he’s not going to hire an agent for the 2024 NFL Draft. Usually, prospects hire an agent well before April.
It was also revealed that Harrison won’t go through the gauntlet of drills at the NFL Combine.
Then on Friday, it was reported by NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport that Harrison won’t speak to the media for his scheduled press conference. It’s unclear why he elected to skip it.
“An NFL spokesman told reporters that #OSU WR Marvin Harrison Jr. won’t talk to the media at his previously scheduled 8:20 am press conference,” Rapoport wrote on social media.
As you’d expect, NFL fans are quite confused by Harrison’s decision.
“The players are calling all the shots at the NFL Combine,” one fan said in response to Rapoport’s report.
Another fan said, “What’s up with these new kids bro why can’t they just do what they’re supposed to do.”
Despite this unnecessary drama, Harrison is expected to be a top-five pick in the upcoming draft. He had 155 receptions for 2,613 yards and 31 touchdowns during his time at Ohio State. It also helps that he has desirable measurements for a No. 1 wide receiver.
It’ll be fascinating to see where Harrison’s pro career begins.
