Former Ohio State star Michael Thomas doesn’t sound too worried about his alma mater losing Marvin Harrison Jr. to the NFL.
In fact, Thomas is convinced the Buckeyes already have the next great wide receiver waiting in the wings. He’s talking about five-star recruit Jeremiah Smith.
Thomas reposted a photo of Smith on social media this Tuesday. He had high praise for the No. 1 recruit in the country.
“The next Great One 100%,” Thomas wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
That’s telling since it’s coming from Thomas.
Before Thomas became an All-Pro wide receiver for the Saints, he was an impact player for the Buckeyes. He finished his college career with 113 receptions for 1,602 yards and 18 touchdowns.
If Smith can match that production or even surpass it during his time in Columbus, he’ll become a fan favorite.
So, just how talented is Smith? 247Sports director of scouting Andrew Ivins compared the potential-packed wideout to Julio Jones.
“One of the top overall prospects to come out of South Florida in the modern recruiting era,” Ivins wrote. “An absolute bully at the catch point that will give defenses fits given the rare combination of his size, speed and hands
Ohio State fans, are you pumped up about Smith’s future?
