Michigan’s Top Player Expected To Miss Saturday’s Game vs. Ohio State

Michigan will be without one of its top players for Saturday’s showdown against Ohio State.

According to ESPN’s Pete Thamel, Michigan star cornerback Will Johnson is not expected to play against Ohio State due to a toe injury. He suffered the injury in October against Illinois.

This is Johnson’s third season with the Wolverines and he has compiled 14 total tackles, three passes defended, and two interceptions.

He’s helped the Wolverines beat the Buckeyes in his last two seasons while the Wolverines are also on a three-game winning streak against the Buckeyes and are trying to make it four on Saturday.

However, the Buckeyes come in as big favorites. They’re by far the more talented team and are in contention for a spot in the Big Ten Championship Game and the College Football Playoff.

They’ll clinch a spot in the Big Ten Championship Game against the Oregon Ducks with a win over the Wolverines in Columbus.

It’ll be next man up for the Wolverines with Johnson likely out as they try and slow down the Buckeyes’ high-flying offensive attack. They’ve had one of the best offenses in the country this year and it could be a bit much for the Wolverines’ defense to stop.

Over the last three years, the winner of this game has gone on to win the Big Ten and while the Wolverines won’t be able to do that, they still would want nothing more than to play spoiler for their biggest rival.

Kickoff for this game will be at Noon ET on FOX.
