Peyton Yager/X.
Peyton Yager of Fox 4 News issued a public apology to Ohio State this week.
Yager accidentally referred to Ohio State as Iowa State while on-air. She posted an apology on social media along with a video of her walking off set.
“When you keep saying ‘Iowa State’ instead of ‘Ohio State’ on TV……. my bad Buckeyes,” Yager wrote. “I need the weekend.”

Luckily for Yager, college football fans weren’t really offended by her mistake.
“Rookie mistake,” one fan said. “When I was a freshman at SMU everyone would say I was from Iowa. Hmm. Not really even close!”
Another fan replied, “It’s all good your mind is on the Sugar Bowl. Where it should be.”
“At least you didn’t put up a pic of Arkansas when you were talking about Arkansas State,” a third fan commented.
It’s nice to see the college football community have some fun with a harmless miscue.
