Ohio State dishes out handful of new offers, gets ready for another impressive guest list this weekend

The Buckeyes sent out four new offers on Thursday after successful camp performances.

A theme every summer, Ohio State not only plays host to their top recruiting targets for visit season, but also puts on several day camps as well. Inviting players to come in and compete under the watchful eye of the staff, each year new names earn offers after leaving the Buckeyes impressed, and Thursday was the start to that once again.

A handful of new offers going out after Thursday’s camp, Ohio State is still evaluating players at any given moment. While the major visits are likely to command much of the attention, there’s always other news when it comes to recruiting.

Here are the latest guys to hear from the Buckeyes.

Jonathan Galette (Montvale, New Jersey/ St. Joseph Regional)

Making the trek on Thursday, three-star New Jersey native Jonathan Galette made his unofficial visit to Columbus and it proved worth his while. A 5-foot-11, 175 pound athlete, Galette is the No. 426 player nationally and the 28th best athlete per the 247Sports Composite in the 2027 class.

An offer list that includes the likes of Boston College, Indiana, Michigan State, Penn State, Tennessee, and now Ohio State, the Buckeyes saw enough to get in the mix, and won’t be the last to do so.

Likely a safety or nickel at the next level, the Buckeyes have done very well at the defensive back position as of late, and that includes success in New Jersey. A familiar region, it’s safe to assume Ohio State will likely be in good position here if the efforts continue.

After a great visit I’m Blessed to receive an offer from Ohio State university!!#AGTG@SJRCoachAug @MattGuerrieri @OGWalt_ @ryandaytime @adamgorney @RivalsFriedman @On3sports @BrianDohn247 @SWiltfong pic.twitter.com/P1bEYNJQsD

Jordan Karhoff (Columbus, Ohio/St. Francis De Sales)

Not having to travel far at all, in-state tight end prospect Jordan Karhoff made a visit to his home town team yesterday and had himself a successful stop as the Buckeyes pulled the trigger in offering their latest Ohio product.

A 6-foot-4, 215 pound athlete, Karhoff has a solid offer list already over 20 schools, so seeing Ohio State get in line makes sense. Auburn, Cincinnati, Kentucky, Missouri, Tennessee, and others round out some of the bigger names, but Ohio State arguably becomes the biggest suitor quickly now that they too have taken a real notice of his skillset.

The No. 288 player nationally and 19th best tight-end per the 247Sports Composite in the 2027 class, Ohio State will have no shortage of opportunities to continue seeing him play considering Ryan Day’s son is Karhoff’s quarterback, and you’d think that would further help keep him close to home.

Extremely blessed to receive an offer from THE Ohio State University‼️@ryandaytime @CoachKee @FootballSFD @Kstaff07 @MikeDaviesFit @jasonv2460 @AllenTrieu @adamgorney @SWiltfong_ pic.twitter.com/UOWEADBwXH

Braylon Clark (Charlotte, North Carolina/Charlotte Country Day)

Moving ahead to the 2028 class, wide receiver prospect Braylon Clark had himself one heck of a showing at camp, leaving with Ohio State on his offer sheet. A 6-foot-2, 175 pound athlete, Clark has no shortage of opportunities at his disposal racking up already nearly 20 offers to his name with just one high school season under his belt, but adding the Buckeyes is his latest feat and impressing Brian Hartline says something.

Unranked right now strictly due to his class status, it won’t be a real surprise to see him among the top players at his position for the 2028 class and now Ohio State can really start building a lasting relationship. Like many before him, Hartline tends to win more recruiting battles than he loses and if he focuses in on Clark, surely the Buckeyes would be a tough team to beat.

North Carolina continues to be a real part of the country this staff is going back to consistently on the recruiting trail, so this likely sets up Ohio State for future trips of their own to see Clark while out on the road.

I’m blessed to receive an offer from THE @OhioStateFB . Thank you @ryandaytime @brianhartline and the entire staff. OH-IO#HUMBLED&HONORED#FULLBORE @On3Recruits @RivalsFriedman @HighSchoolOT @PrepRedzoneNC @247recruiting @nchssportspage @ccdsfootball1 pic.twitter.com/FIYWOCIfPD

Eli Johnson (Cibolo, Texas/Steele)

One more for good measure, Texas native Eli Johnson was also in Columbus on Thursday and made the most of his time by leaving with his latest offer in hand. A 6-foot-3, 200 pound safety, Johnson plays at an elite level and has the rankings to back it up.

The No. 102 player nationally and the eighth best safety per the 247Sports Composite in the 2027 class, Johnson’s 20-plus offers fits the bill for the rest of his stock. A position Ohio State is crushing it at right now, safety continues to be a real priority for this defense, and position coach Matt Guerrieri seems to have all of the tools for being a high-level recruiter.

Never too early to look at the upcoming cycles, the Buckeyes have a new name worth watching in the defensive secondary for the 2027 class with this new offer to Johnson. With how well the recruit the state of Texas already, Eli just has to look at the current roster to know he’d be well taken care of if he chose Ohio State as his eventual landing spot.

Quick Hits

  • With another major weekend of opportunities on deck, Ohio State will play host to receiver target Monshun Sales on Saturday. The Indiana native is a recent offer by the Buckeyes, and rightfully so.

The No. 14 player nationally and second best receiver in the 247Sports Composite for the 2027 class, Sales trails just current Buckeye pledge Jamier Brown in the standings. Sure to take a ton of Hartline’s attention while in town, Ohio State would love nothing more than to add him to their haul and another strong visit her could easily help that be the case.

Excited to get back to Columbus Saturday! I can’t wait to get back around the staff and learn more about Ohio State football. Thank you @ryandaytime @brianhartline @CoachJordan82 ‼️ @LNWildcatsFB @CoachMillz_ @coach_craig21 @coach_mal pic.twitter.com/LncpeCHQyo
