Former Ohio State cornerback Damon Arnette was reportedly arrested last month.
According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport and Clayton Holloway, Arnette was charged with possession of methamphetamine and unlawful carrying of a firearm. The arrest took place in Richardson, Texas, on Jan. 6.
Buckeyes fans are disheartened by the latest legal situation involving the former second-team All-Big Ten standout.
“Man I hate the path he’s gone down. One of my favorite players,” a fan wrote. “Sucks to see.”

“Still rooting for you to turn your life around Dame,” a fan wrote.
The Raiders made Arnette the No. 19 pick of the 2020 NFL Draft. He played just 13 games over two seasons before getting released in November 2021 after a video surfaced of him threatening to kill someone while brandishing a firearm.
The Kansas City Chiefs signed Arnette in January 2022 but cut him days later following an arrest in Las Vegas. Police said he threatened a valet driver with a gun.
Last May, a grand injury indicted Arnette on assault with a deadly weapon and firearm-related charges. Arnette was sued for a separate valet dispute in 2021 and was accused of injuring a woman in a hit-and-run crash.
It’s awfully difficult to envision an NFL team giving Arnette another chance following news of his latest arrest.
