One of Ohio State’s newest Big Ten rivals is reportedly trying to pilfer one of its top recruits.
According to Tom Loy of 247Sports, the University of Oregon is hosting Buckeyes five-star cornerback commit Na’eem Offord on an unofficial visit this weekend. Something that the recruiting analyst says was “expected” back in April.
Offord is the No. 7 player in the 2025 class and is widely-regarded as a top-three CB in the country.
As is the nature of college football, Offord’s commitment to OSU hasn’t stopped other programs like the Ducks, Auburn, Alabama and Miami from pursuing his services.
If the Birmingham native ultimately decides to go through with his commitment to the Bucks, he would join a stacked DB class that includes fellow five-star recruit Devin Sanchez and four-star safety DeShawn Stewart.
Landing Offord in Eugene would be a huge get for Dan Lanning and Oregon as the Ducks attempt to take the next step in their journey to national title contention.
We’re already seeing how competitive things can get on the recruiting trail with the influx of new programs to the B1G.
Will Lanning and Phil Knight be able to offer the prized CB enough to flip his commitment to the Pacific Northwest though?
