Ohio State football lost a commitment from its 2025 recruiting class on Thursday.
Baltimore (Md.) St. Frances Academy four-star cornerback Blake Woodby decommitted from the Buckeyes. Woodby originally committed to Ohio State last October after being offered in December 2022.
Woodby is the No. 7 cornerback and No. 66 overall player in the 2025 cycle, according to 247Sports’ Composite Rankings.
“Likely going to need a developmental year or two to get the body right, but should be viewed as someone that could blossom into a multi-year starter for a College Football Playoff regular,” wrote 247Sports’ Andrew Ivins. “Versatile enough to play on the inside or outside and possibly even safety depending on the defensive scheme.”
Despite Woodby’s decommitment, Ohio State still holds pledges from the two top-rated cornerbacks in the class of 2025, five-stars Devin Sanchez and Na’eem Offord, both top 10 prospects overall.
If the Buckeyes can pick up a commitment from Conroe (Tex.) five-star Dorian Brew, who they are pursuing heavily, they would have three of the top four cornerback recruits in the country in the fold for 2025.
Overall, Ohio State has 12 prospects committed for 2025, including three five-stars and six four-stars. As of now, the Buckeyes’ 2025 haul ranks No. 2 nationally, trailing only Notre Dame.
