Ohio State is losing a guard to the transfer portal.
Following its loss to Georgia in the NIT, guard Bowen Hardman decided to enter his name in the transfer portal.
Hardman appeared in 18 games this season and averaged just 1.8 points per game. He only appeared in 25 games during his two seasons in Columbus and averaged 1.8 points per game.
He also saw limited playing time, averaging less than four minutes per game. He’ll be looking for more minutes with his next school.
Before committing to Ohio State, Hardman was a three-star recruit in the 2022 class and the No. 12 recruit in his home state (Ohio), per 247Sports composite rankings. He was also the No. 315 overall recruit in the country.
Ohio State finished the 2023-24 season with a 22-14 record and was able to make the NIT after surviving a coaching change. The school fired Chris Holtmann before the end of the season, which led to Jake Diebler taking over.
He then did a great job on an interim basis before the school hired him for the full-time gig.
We’ll see how that move pays off when the 2024-25 season gets underway.
