Ohio State is in the market for a new quarterback this offseason, and the Buckeyes are going big game hunting.
According to ESPN’s Pete Thamel, Ohio State will host Kansas State transfer Will Howard in the “upcoming days” and there is “mutual interest” between player and program.
Howard, one of the top signal callers left in the NCAA transfer portal, is also considering Miami and USC and still could enter the 2024 NFL Draft.

Howard appeared in 34 games for Kansas State over the last four seasons. The 6-foot-5, 242-pound Pennsylvania native completed 59% of his passes for 5,786 yards, 48 touchdowns and 25 interceptions while adding 921 rushing yards and 19 scores on the ground.
Howard’s best season with the Wildcats was this past one. He threw for 2,643 yards and 24 touchdowns against 10 interceptions while also scoring nine rushing TDs.
Kyle McCord started all 12 regular season games at quarterback for Ohio State, but the former four-star recruit entered the transfer portal in early December and later committed to Syracuse.
Backup Devin Brown started the Cotton Bowl in McCord’s place, but was injured during the contest, giving way to true freshman Lincoln Kienholz.
