Mathis is the top recruit from his home state (Pennsylvania) and the fifth-best edge rushing recruit in the nation, per 247Sports composite rankings. He’s also the No. 37 overall recruit in the country for his class.
This commitment gives Ohio State the sixth-best recruiting class for 2025, per 247Sports. Mathis is OSU’s sixth commitment to the class.
Mathis is also the third four-star commit of that class.
OSU is coming off an 11-2 campaign in 2023. The program lost to Michigan for a third year in a row before losing to Missouri in the Cotton Bowl before the new year.
