Ohio State is set to lose a member of its secondary.
Per Jeremy Birmingham, safety Cameron Martinez is going to enter the transfer portal.
Ohio State 4th-year safety Cameron Martinez tells me he’ll enter the transfer portal.
The Buckeyes defensive back is open to playing either side of the ball at next stop. He was a two-time Michigan HS Player of the Year (2018-2019) and the Gatorade Player of the Year in 2019.

Martinez has been with the program for four years but didn’t get much playing time this season. He only recorded two tackles this year.
Before that, he totaled 15 total tackles in 2022 and 23 tackles in 2021.
He was part of OSU’s 2020 recruiting class and was a four-star prospect, per 247Sports composite rankings. He was also the seventh-best recruit in his home state (Michigan) and the No. 323 overall recruit in the nation.
Martinez will likely be looking for a school that can give him more playing time next year.
Ohio State finished the regular season with an 11-1 record and will need help to make the College Football Playoff.
