The Ohio State Buckeyes should be absolutely loaded for the 2024 season. Moments ago, edge rusher Patrick Sawyer announced that he’s returning for his senior year.
“I’m back,” Sawyer wrote on social media. He also released a hype video regarding his return.
Sawyer finished the 2023 season with 48 total tackles, 6.5 sacks, two forced fumbles and two passes defended. Ohio State’s coaching staff would love to receive that type of production yet again in the fall.

Sawyer previously told reporters that he was thinking about coming back for his senior year.
“I don’t know, we’ll see,” Sawyer said. “More than likely, yeah. Probably.”
Clearly, Sawyer didn’t want to leave Ohio State on a sour note. He’ll now have a chance to win a Big Ten title on his way out.
Sawyer isn’t the only key defensive player returning to Ohio State for the 2024 season. Defensive lineman Tyleik Williams is also coming back for one last ride.
If Ohio State cornerback Denzel Burke returns for another year, that would only boost the program’s chances of being a national title contender.
