Ohio State stays busy on the recruiting trail with another trio of offers

Thursday continues the offer train as the Buckeyes hand out more in the 2027 and 2028 classes.

Ohio State’s coaching staff was all over the map once again on Thursday, using their time on the trail to offer new names. Really going hard after new prospects this week, the Buckeyes are always in evaluation mode, but ahead of the major recruiting weeks coming in June, it looks as if Ryan Day and his crew are hoping some of these new offers turn into visits.

These are some of the latest names worth watching moving forward now that Ohio State is involved.

Treyvone Towns Jr. (Westlake Village, California/Oaks Christian)

A quarterback in the 2028 class, Treyvone Towns Jr. is a 6-foot-3, 205 pound high school freshman and is now the owner of an Ohio State offer after Thursday’s touch base with the staff. Recently in Columbus to see the Buckeyes for the spring game just last month, Ohio State has seen enough to get in the mix for the youngster with a ton of potential.

Unranked via his 247Sports profile strictly because of his age, it’s only a matter of time before he’s one of the more highly-touted quarterbacks in his class. Holding offers from the likes of Arkansas, Kentucky, Penn State, Washington, and a host of others, the Buckeyes are arguably the biggest program to take notice. When it comes to quarterbacks, the longer you can develop a relationship the better.

I am Blessed and truly honored to receive an offer from THEE Ohio State University! ️-H @CoachFess @oclionsfootball @CoachDanny10 @ChadSimmons_ @BrandonHuffman @BlairAngulo @CoachKeanu @RyanMayhew_ @BoominBuckeyes @ryandaytime @TomLoy247 @PrepRedzoneNext pic.twitter.com/9d6v6VWBiy

Charlie Pisani (Fort Pierce, Florida/John Carroll)

Staying in the 2028 recruiting class, the Buckeyes also took to the offensive line to offer another new young high school freshman name. A 6-foot-3, 280 pound interior lineman, Charlie Pisani was on the receiving end of Ohio State’s offer. Looking at the other schools to be in early on his services, it makes sense why Tyler Bowen and the Buckeyes are taking a closer look.

Florida, Florida State, Miami, Texas A&M, and now Ohio State round out his biggest offers, but with those caliber of programs already in the mix it’s likely more are soon to follow suit.

It will be no surprise when Pisani is ranked among the top players in the country at his position, and with Florida always being a region Ohio State looks to take advantage of, keep your eyes on this recruitment.

Sean Tatum (Fort Pierce, Florida/John Carroll)

Double-dipping at John Carroll yesterday, Ohio State not only offered the aforementioned Pisani, but also his current prep teammate Sean Tatum. Another interior lineman, Tatum is a 6-foot-5, 280 pound athlete currently grades out as the No. 131 player nationally and the fifth best player at his position per the 247Sports Composite for the 2027 class.

Holding 20 offers to his name and from some major programs, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Miami, Penn State, Tennessee, and others are in the mix. Ohio State now firmly involved as well, Bowen has proved he is all for casting a wider net as a recruiting strategy. Though majority of his success has come from in-state players, that’s not going to be his only method as he’s laying the groundwork in every corner of the country.

A more priority target due to class, Ohio State will look to get Tatum up to Columbus for a visit, and this coming June very well could be the perfect time to do so.

Quick Hits

  • The best position coach in the country, Brian Hartline has a multitude of reasons as to why he’s been so successful while manning the receiver position. It helps to land elite players, but it’s even more impressive to see just how well he teaches and develops the position overall.

Always looking to work with players, this summer Hartline will be back on the practice field when the Buckeyes host their recruiting camps, and 2028 receiver prospect Mason Anderson plans to show off his abilities on June 17.

A Buffalo, New York native, Anderson is starting to see his recruitment take off, with early offers from the likes of Colorado State, Syracuse, Temple, Toledo and others. These visits should help his name see that increased attention.
