The Buckeyes are coming off yet another successful weekend of recruiting visits.
This late in the game for the 2026 class, it was a bit surprising that Ohio State hadn’t yet zeroed in on a quarterback prospect, especially given their long run of success on the trail at the position under Ryan Day.
While the Buckeyes aren’t especially in need at QB in the near future with both Julian Sayin and Tavien St. Clair both on campus, Day would obviously love to add more talent to the room given the current nature of college football. Following another big recruiting weekend in Columbus, it appears Ohio State has found its guy.
Earning an offer from the Buckeyes on Sunday during his official visit, Day and his staff are making a play for 2026 four-star quarterback, Luke Fahey.
Blessed and humbled to receive an offer from Ohio State !! pic.twitter.com/W2KxWaJ6HL

Fahey comes in as the No. 23 QB nationally and the No. 33 player out of the talent-rich state of California. The 6-foot, 185-pound quarterback plays his high school ball at Mission Viejo, the same program that produced current OSU freshman receiver, Phillip Bell.
As the only quarterback the Buckeyes have hosted on an official visit this month, it is clear that Ohio State is incredibly interested in Fahey, and despite the offer coming at this late stage in the cycle, it seems that interest is mutual. Not too long after Fahey announced the offer, On3’s Alex Gleitman logged a Crystal Ball prediction in favor of the Buckeyes.
Fahey had a strong sophomore campaign, passing for nearly 2,200 yards with 26 touchdowns and six picks. He followed that up with a far more efficient junior season, passing for fewer yards (1,638) and TDs (17) but improving his completion percentage by almost 15% (76.6) and tossing zero interceptions. A multi-sport athlete, Fahey also plays basketball and lacrosse.
Ohio State immediately becomes the odds-on favorite to land Fahey, who is also considering Indiana and Stanford among his top options out of his nearly 30 offers.
Elsewhere, the Buckeyes also appear to be the favorites for 2026 three-star wide receiver Jerquaden Guilford. The last remaining uncommitted target for Brian Hartline in the class, Ohio State is among the final four schools for Guilford alongside Indiana, Michigan and Ole Miss.
Crystal Ball Alert!
Jerquaden Guilford has been Crystal Balled to Ohio State.
This is Ohio State 1st Crystal Ball made by Steve Wiltfong at ON3.
Position: Wide Receiver

Ranking: #1 Recruit in the State of Indiana, 2026 Class

The 6-foot-2, 190-pound pass-catcher is the No. 68 wide receiver in the country and the No. 1 player out of Indiana in this cycle. The one-time Penn State commit, who de-committed from the Nittany Lions back in February, impressed last week at one of Ohio State’s recruiting camps, and is coming off his official visit this past weekend.
While his ranking doesn’t jump off the page, this is a player that Hartline has been in on for a long time now, having been among the first few offers for Guilford in June 2024. The Buckeyes already have four receivers committed in this class — Chris Henry Jr., Kayden Dixon-Wyatt, Jaeden Ricketts and Brock Boyd — but clearly see enough in Guilford that they are seriously pursuing him as the fifth guy at the position.
It seems as though that pursuit will be successful, as it often is for Hartline, but we will find out officially in a few days, as Guilford has a commitment date set for this Friday, June 27.
Another loaded guest list
Outside of the aforementioned Fahey and Guilford, there were a large number of other top targets and commits alike at Ohio State this past weekend. Here are a few of the big names the Buckeyes hosted on campus over the last few days.
