Fresh off a monster freshman season, Alabama safety Caleb Downs is reportedly heading into the transfer portal.
While Georgia is projected as the leader to land the former five-star recruit, Ohio State wide receiver Brandon Inniss, who himself was a five-star prospect in the 2023 cycle, is trying to recruit him to the Buckeyes.
“Come home brudda,” Inniss tweeted in response to the news of Downs leaving ‘Bama.

Inniss appeared in eight games as a freshman at OSU, catching his first career touchdown on a 58-yard scoring play against Purdue. He could see an expanded role in 2024 following the departure of Marvin Harrison Jr.
As for Downs, he led Alabama in tackles with 107, earning first-team All-SEC honors and the 2023 SEC Freshman of the Year award.
The 6-foot, 203-pound standout, who played his high school ball for Hoschton (Ga.) Mill Creek High School, is one of two high-profile freshmen who reportedly intend to leave the Crimson Tide.
