Ohio State head coach Ryan Day has been under a lot of pressure lately after three straight years without a Big Ten title. Today, his new boss weighed in on how he feels about him.
At his introductory press conference, newly-minted Ohio State athletic director Ross Bjork singled out Day and declared that he’s the man to get it done and deliver championships to the Buckeyes.
“This guy right here, Coach Day, he’s gonna get it done. It’s gonna be great when we win those championships,” Bjork said, via Adam King.
Day came pretty close in his first two years at the helm. He won back-to-back Big Ten titles in his first two seasons and led the Buckeyes to the national title game in 2020.
But things have been rough since 2021.

Over the last three seasons the Buckeyes have started their seasons 11-0 only to lose to Michigan in The Game to end each season, missing the Big Ten title game in the process and only making the College Football Playoff once in those three years.
After this year’s lackluster showing in their Cotton Bowl loss to Missouri and No. 10 finish – their worst since 2013 – the consensus among fans is that Day needs to be on the hot seat.
Judging by the vote of approval from Ross Bjork, his seat may not be as hot as fans want it to be.
