During the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft, the New York Jets selected Ohio State tight end Jeremy Ruckert with the No. 101 overall pick.
Ruckert, a Long Island native, actually grew up a fan of the Jets. In case anyone doubted that fact, Ohio State posted a picture of a young Ruckert wearing a Jets uniform.
It’s a pretty awesome photo to say the least.

Speaking to the media on Friday night, Ruckert made it abundantly clear that he’s thrilled to be on the Jets.
“It’s a dream come true,” Ruckert said, via the New York Post. “I’ve dreamed of this since I was a little kid. I grew up a Jets fan. My whole family grew up as Jets fans. Going to practices when they used to practice at Hofstra and going to games as a kid. The story’s still being written and I can’t wait to get to work but in this moment right now, I’m super excited and my family is super excited.”
Ruckert finished his Ohio State career with 54 catches for 615 yards and 12 touchdowns.
The Jets already have a playmaker at tight end in C.J. Uzomah, but it certainly doesn’t hurt to add depth to that position.
