Ohio State fans are expecting big things out of third-year wideout Julian Fleming. Unfortunately, he didn’t participate in the Buckeyes’ spring game on Saturday afternoon.
After the scrimmage, Ryan Day immediately addressed Fleming’s absence. The former five-star prospect was held out of the spring game due to injury.
Fortunately, it doesn’t sound like Fleming is dealing with anything serious. Day said he’s “day-to-day” and was withheld from the scrimmage for precautionary reasons.
It doesn’t sound like there’s any reason to be worried about Fleming’s availability this summer.
“Ryan Day meeting with the media after the spring game,” Dan Hope tweeted. “Day said Julian Fleming was ‘day-to-day’ with an injury, so Ohio State held him out for precautionary reasons.”

Ohio State fans are expecting big things out of Julian Fleming this upcoming season.
The Buckeyes lost Chris Olave and Garrett Wilson to the NFL this offseason. Fleming has big shoes to fill.
In two seasons in Columbus, Fleming has 19 catches for 160 yards and one touchdown. Those numbers should see a significant increase this fall.
Ohio State, meanwhile, is a trendy pick to win the title this upcoming season. The Buckeyes took a step back last season, falling to both Oregon and Michigan, losing the Big Ten title and failing to make the playoff. A trip to the Rose Bowl wasn’t too bad to finish the year, though. Ohio State beat Utah in a 48-45 thriller.
The Buckeyes begin the 2022 season on Sept. 3 against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
