After effectively ceding the Big Ten Conference to arch-rival Michigan after a decade of dominance under Urban Meyer, Ohio State head coach Ryan Day is going to be under a microscope by the fanbase – and perhaps the administration – in 2024.
Today the Buckeyes learned that leading rusher TreVeyon Henderson is returning for the 2024 season. Combined with the return of No. 2 wide receiver Emeka Egbuka and most of their defensive core, the Buckeyes are once again among the betting favorites to win both the Big Ten title and the national title next season.
Day won the Big Ten title in each of his first two seasons but has not been able to reach the Big Ten Championship in any of the last three seasons due to their inability to beat Michigan.
As a result, Buckeyes fans are starting to put some major pressure on Day to win at least one title this coming season.
If Ryan Day can’t win a single trophy with this team next year then there’s no defending him any longer.
This Ohio State roster is the best in college football from top to bottom it’s time to make the Buckeyes the kings of college football once again in 2024.

Ohio State could not possibly be set up any better to win in 2024. Ryan Day, you’re on the clock…

Ohio State returns nearly every starter, brings in a new QB & RB.
A team that went 11-1 last year at full strength with a 6 point road loss to the national champs.
Ryan Day absolutely HAS to win in 2024. pic.twitter.com/u7OReHaJWT

If OSU doesn’t win title in 2024, Ryan Day might be a true war criminal https://t.co/rHtY7ZncEx

Ryan Day’s tenure at Ohio State got off to a blazing hot start. He won back-to-back Big Ten titles in dominating fashion – crushing Michigan along the way – and reached the College Football Playoff twice as well as the national title game in the pandemic-shortened 2020 season.
Since then, the Buckeyes’ seasons have all ended basically the same: 11-2 with losses to Michigan mixed in.
Will 2024 be Day’s final year at the helm?
