Stephen A. Smith loves the passion Ohio State fans displayed after knocking off Caitlin Clark and the No. 2 Hawkeyes over the weekend, but he also thinks that they need to be responsible for their actions.
On Monday’s episode of “First Take,” the ESPN personality addressed postgame collision between Clark and a fan that knocked the wind out of the Iowa star. Warning:
You’ve got to be careful about that. I love it when fans storm the court because it’s beautiful and shows the exhilaration of the crowd. But in the same breath, you gotta be responsible and they have an obligation to do that.

Stephen A. also said the Buckeyes were lucky Clark’s mom wasn’t in attendance because she apparently doesn’t play.
I will tell you this though… They’re lucky her mama wasn’t there. Her mama is no joke. Caitlin Clark’s mama don’t play. Don’t play at all! She loves her baby girl, she’s highly protective of her. When I saw that, the first thing was to make sure she was okay. The second thing I was looking for was where is her mama at?… The mama of Caitlin Clark is no joke, she don’t play.
Thankfully Clark was OK and the incident wasn’t as serious as it first appeared. She and the Hawks will try to get back in the win column with a Jan. 27 game vs. Nebraska.
