Stripe alert!
Over the weekend, Kansas State quarterback transfer Will Howard “officially” became an Ohio State Buckeye by shedding his black stripe for a scarlet one. A tradition Urban Meyer started for incoming freshman and newcomers to the OSU program.
Howard was one of the biggest additions to the Buckeyes 2024 roster and figures to be the team’s starter by the time fall comes around. An Ohio State assistant got the team hyped as the senior QB received the honor:
“Aye man! This guy is a new addition that we are happy to have!” the coach exclaimed. “He’s a gunslinger and a bulldozer! Newest member of the quarterback room… Will Howard!”
“Aye man first of all I just want to thank God,” Howard addressed his teammates. “Appreciate you guys taking me in here. I am blessed to be a Buckeye. Shoutout to the Q’s, shoutout O-Block. Go Bucks!”
Howard is coming off his most productive season yet of the four he spent in Manhattan. In 2023 the KSU QB threw for a career-high 2,643 yards and 24 touchdowns while also completing 61.3% of his passes and adding nine scores with his legs.
At 6-foot-5, 242-pounds Howard is one of the bigger signal-callers the Bucks have had in recent memory. Ohio State opens the season with a home matchup against Akron Aug. 31.
