Ohio State had initially said that Dennis was expected to “transition into a still-to-be-determined role with the program” after the hiring of Bill O’Brien.

Dennis had been OSU’s quarterbacks coach until Bill O’Brien was hired to be the program’s offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach.
At the time of the hire, OSU said that he was going to have a different role with the program but that didn’t end up happening.
He had been with the program for nearly a decade in a variety of different roles but sometimes, all good things must come to an end.
Dennis will get to work with a Utah program that had another consistent season in 2023. The Utes went 8-4 during the regular season before finishing 8-5 after a 14-7 loss to the Northwestern Wildcats in the Las Vegas Bowl.
