Ohio State is so loaded for the 2024 season that even its punter could be considered a weapon.
Earlier this week, Australian punter Nick McLarty committed to the Buckeyes. He spent time on campus for a few days before making his decision.
“I fondly enjoyed my visit today,” McLarty told Lettermen Row, via On3. “To be able to watch a program which is building towards a national championship is quite remarkable.”
McLarty is a 6-foot-7, 255-pound punter capable of flipping field position in the blink of an eye.
There’s actually video evidence of McLarty sending a 90-yard punt over a stadium. It’s truly incredible.
Here’s the video of McLarty that’s going viral this weekend:

“If you’re a punter of this caliber and not going to Iowa then you’re doing it wrong,” one person joked. “At a program with a good offense you get a couple punts a game and they won’t be that deep. At Iowa you’d get to punt on almost every possession and it would be from the -20 or further back often.”
Another person commented, “Buckeyes might not need to punt next year, but if we do, this dude pinning everyone inside the 10.”
Obviously, Ryan Day doesn’t want his team to punt very often. If it comes to that, though, he should have confidence in McLarty.
Besides, it’d be pretty cool to see McLarty send a punt over 70 yards in a Big Ten game.
