Ohio State football is hosting its first home game of the season, and for many, the first that they’ve been able to attend since the 2019 season. The Best Damn Band in the Land, the school’s beloved marching band, was also not able to attend home games last year due to COVID-19.
Unfortunately, that means rust is pretty understandable. Ohio State’s drum major certainly wants his big run out onto the field back.
As he neared the end zone, with most of the band already on the field, he did what so many of us fear when surrounded by a hundred thousand fans. He tripped and fell face first.
Give him some credit, he bounced right back up. That’s solid hustle after a pretty embarrassing moment for him.

It has been a sluggish start for most involved with the Buckeyes in general. Ohio State has come out slow, and trails opponent Oregon 7-0 early in the second quarter.
Anthony Brown just led the Ducks on an impressive 10-play, 99-yard drive to get the Ducks on the board. CJ Verdell topped things off with a 14-yard touchdown run to open scoring.
Ohio State started their first game of the year, last Thursday’s game at Minnesota, similarly slow, before quarterback C.J. Stroud turned it on in a major way in the second half. We’ll see if the Buckeyes can put together a similar turnaround today.
