Who do Ohio State fans think will lead the team in touchdowns and sacks?

You ask, we answer. Sometimes we ask, others answer. And then other times, we ask, we answer.

Throughout the year, we will be asking and answering questions about various Ohio State teams, the players, and anything else on our collective minds of varying degrees of importance. If you have a question that you would like to ask, you can tweet us @LandGrant33, or if you need more than 280 characters, send an email HERE.

Last week at LGHL was “Most Telling Stat Week” here at Land-Grant Holy Land. So for our weekly fan survey, we wanted to know who Buckeye Nation would predict to lead the team in two major counting stats this fall.

So, we asked about one offensive stat and one defensive, and gave respondents a slew of options to choose from. However, if there is someone’s name that you would like to include that we didn’t provide initially, feel free to throw his name into the mix in the comments at the bottom of the article.

And since this article is sponsored by the fine folks at FanDuel Sportsbook, you should head over to their exceptional betting establishment and put some money on these incredible Buckeyes to do something special this fall!

Question 1: Which Buckeye will finish with more touchdowns this year?

Yeah, this is the answer that makes the most sense. In the article announcing the survey questions, I half-heartedly made the argument that by J.J. becoming officially WR1 and everyone in college football turning their attention to him that it would open the doors for one of the new co-starting running backs or other wide receivers to take the TD title.

Ultimately though, when you’ve got the best offensive player in college football, you’ve got to get him the ball, and I expect Ryan Day, Brian Hartline, and Julian Sayin to do just that.

Question 2: Which Buckeye will finish with more sacks this year?

This one is more difficult to nail down. It has been 20 seasons since a Buckeye linebacker has led the team in sacks; A.J. Hawk had 9.5 in the 2005 season to tie defensive lineman Mike Kudla, so the chances of Sonny Styles doing it aren’t great.

However, when you only have one returning starter on the first two levels of your defense, I understand why folks would pick No. 6, since they have actually seen years of productivity from him, while the other guys will be getting their first real chance to prove themselves this fall.

Thinking about it now, if I had to predict, I would probably go with Kenyatta Jackson. I think he is going to lineup in the J.T. Tuimoloau spot on the right this fall, and that worked out pretty well for him.

Throughout the year, we ask questions of the most plugged-in Ohio State fans and fans across the country. Sign up here to participate in the weekly emailed surveys. This survey was brought to you by FanDuel.
