Cleveland Guardians minor league recap for Thursday, July 3, 2025

Columbus Clippers 13, Toledo Mud Hens 0

Box Score · Clippers improve to 39-41

It was an offensive explosion from the Clippers. Chase DeLauter went 1-5 with a double, Juan Brito went 1-4 with a Grand Slam. CJ Kayfus went 1-5 with a HR and Jhonkensy Noel went 2-5 with a HR.

Vince Velasquez had a great outing, he didn’t allow a single run in 5.2 innings and struck out 8 batters. Paul Sewald and Trevor Stephan both had rehab outings and combined for 2 scoreless innings in relief with 3 strikeouts.

Akron RubberDucks 6, Erie SeaWolves 5

Box Score · RubberDucks improve to 49-27

Angel Genao continues to impress, he went 2-4 with a walk and has his batting average up to .309. Kahlil Watson went 1-4 with a double and a walk. Joe Lampe went 3-5 with a HR and a double.

Tommy Mace limited the damage to just two runs but he walked 6 batters in 5 innings with just 2 strikeouts. His ERA on the season is at 3.50. Jack Leftwich had another good outing out of the bullpen, his ERA is down to 1.17 on the season.

Lake County Captains 9, Dayton Dragons 2

Alfonsin Rosario went 2-5, Ralphy Velazquez continues to heat up as he went 3-5 and has his OPS up to .730 on the season. Jose Devers went 3-5 with a HR, Juan Benjamin and Esteban Gonzalez both went 2-4.

Yorman Gomez allowed just one run in 5 innings with 5 strikeouts. His ERA is down to 3.31. Michael Kennedy continues to look really good. He struck out 4 batters and gave up just one run in 3 innings. His ERA sits at 3.86 on the season.

Lynchburg Hillcats 2, Salem Red Sox 5 (F/10)

Box Score · Hillcats fall to 46-31

It was a tough day offensively for the Hillcats. Nick Mitchell went 2-5, Jeffrey Mercedes went 1-3 with a HR and two walks.

Braylon Doughty is really starting to get comfortable. He had the best outing of his young career, striking out 7 over 5 innings with zero walks. His ERA is down to 4.14 on the season.
