Cleveland Guardians minor league recap for Friday, July 4, 2025
Columbus Clippers 3, Toledo Mud Hens 1
Box Score · Clippers improve to 40-41
Chase DeLauter’s hitting streak ended, but his on-base streak remains intact after going 0-for-3 with a walk on Wednesday.
C.J. Kayfus also kept his on-base streak alive, but he got picked off and injured his ankle in the ensuing rundown. Hopefully it’s not serious, but it didn’t look good as he slid directly into the leg of the player at first base and rolled over his own ankle pretty heavily.
CJ Kayfus was removed from the game tonight for the Clippers after an apparent injury while sliding back into first during a rundown. It appears he and the player covering 1B knocked shins. Hopefully we know more soon. pic.twitter.com/WsIDmgXwFz

Akron RubberDucks 7, Erie SeaWolves 3

Wait, catchers are allowed to contribute on offense? Cooper Ingle pretty much single-handedly carried the Akron offense in this game. He went 4-for-5 with two home runs and two doubles, amassing a whopping 12 total bases. It was an impressive showing for the top catching prospect in the system.
Now you have two homers for Cooper Ingle and a double.
