The offense showed signs of life despite the loss
The Guardians have lost another game. This one wasn’t quite as miserable as the last few due to the offense showing some life and scoring six runs. It was nice to see Manzardo, Arias, and Jones all have success. Hopefully that can continue over the next few months. It’s also important that Lane Thomas continues to look like himself, not just for winning games but also so they can trade him at the deadline and free up some ABs for Chase DeLauter and CJ Kayfus. Speaking of DeLauter, he homered again tonight.
Tonight it was the pitching staff’s turn to let the team down. Cecconi was OK, not great. Matt Festa had a disaster outing, giving up four runs and recording just one out. Hopefully this game can get the offense going and the pitching staff continues to pitch the way they have the last month or so.
Game 3 is tomorrow at 12:05 PM ET. It will be Logan Allen vs Matthew Liberatore. Time to turn in that lefty mashing lineup card!
