Cleveland Guardians minor league recap for Sunday, June 29, 2025
Columbus Clippers 4, Iowa Cubs 2
Box Score · Clippers improve to 38-39
Chase DeLauter batted leadoff Saturday and he led off the game with a home run, his fourth of the season. He is batting .311 with a .949 OPS for Columbus, which would lead all players on the Guardians, including Jose Ramirez. Perhaps the most promising part of DeLauter’s home run was he did it against MLB veteran Kenta Maeda.

Lake County Captains 4, West Michigan Whitecaps 21
Box Score · Captains fall to 38-36
Games like this make me wish baseball had a mercy rule. West Michigan scored nine runs in the second inning and never stopped.
On the bright side, Christian Knapczyk went 2-for-5 while Alfonsin Rosario doubled and walked. Juan Benjamin went 1-for-3 with a walk and Maick Collado homered.
Collado also made his pitching debut, tossing a scoreless inning in the top of the ninth, the only one of six Captains pitchers to put a zero on the scoreboard Saturday. Starting pitcher Jackson Humphries failed to make it out of the second inning, giving up seven runs (five earned) on seven hits in 1.2 frames.
Lynchburg Hillcats 3, Charleston RiverDogs 7
