This is just an extremely painful team to watch night in and night out.
As I’ve said before, this team cannot consistently rely on all the parts of this team working together. Defense, baserunning, offense, starting pitching, and the bullpen. They have almost never gotten all of these cogs to work coherently in the same game.
Cantillo was good, at least. 3.1 quality innings, 5 strikeouts.
The bullpen was good, and pitching 6+ shutout innings.
Baserunning was extremely costly tonight. 2 runners picked off.
Jose Ramirez is hurt. You can see his right hand coming off the bat repeatedly when he swings, just like last time he was hurt in 2022. The team letting him play through something else is ridiculous. Kevin Gausman and John Schneider should be lustily booed any time they come to Cleveland forever more.
