Cleveland Guardians minor league recap for Wednesday, June 18, 2025
Columbus Clippers 2, Indianapolis Indians 7
Box Score · Clippers fall to 30-37
Petey Halpin and Chase DeLauter had two hits a piece and CJ Kayfus had a double, but it wasn’t enough as Doug Nikhazy continues to struggle and Trevor Stephan topped out at 93 mph while sitting 91 mph and looked rough in his first Columbus rehab appearance. Erik Sabrowski also had a rough outing, giving up three hits and two runs.
Akron RubberDucks 1 Hartford Yard Goats 0
Box Score · RubberDucks improve to 41-22
Angel Geano’s double knocked in Alex Mooney for the game’s only run, backing up another strong start for Rubber Ducks’ righty Dylan DeLucia who went five scoreless, witless innings, walking two and striking out eight. Jack Leftwich has been sensational for Akron in relief, with a 0.84 ERA and 13 strikeouts in 10 and 2/3rds, and he struck out the side in a scoreless frame.
Lake County Captains 10, Dayton Dragons 2
Box Score · Captains improve to 34-30
The Captains bounced back from a loss with 11 hits and 8 walks. Ralphy Velazquez and Wuilfredo Antunez both had two hits including a homer and a triple. Jaison Chourio had a hit and three walks and Alfonsin Rosario had two walks.
Lynchburg Hillcats 2, Carolina Mudcats 7
Box Score · Hillcats fall to 41-23
Welbyn Francisca had a walk in a mostly forgettable game for Lynchburg. Tommy Hawke didn’t even get a steal!
ACL Guardians 4, ACL Diamondbacks 8
Tristan McKenzie had another terrible outing, sadly, and seems another step closer to being out of baseball. Juan Brito had a single and a walk on his slow return. Joey Oakie also had a rough inning
DSL Guardians-Goryl 16, DSL Orioles Orange 9
Catcher Gustavo Baptista had a walk to keep his OPS over .900 and DH Rodny Rosario and outfielder Randy Martinez continue to demolish the DSL as Rosario had a single, a double and a homer and Martinez had two doubles and a triple.
DSL Guardians Mendoza 8, DSL Dodgers Mega 9
Second baseman Jose Riera has a 1.246 OPS and hit a homer and a double and took a walk in this game.
