The man formerly known as Lonnie Baseball is calling it a career after eight years (of MLB play). Making his debut in 2011 with the Indians at the age of 22, Chisenhall was solid throughout with a career average of .268, 15 HR and 70 RBI. He didn’t really have a standard place in the field that worked and it became a problem.
Chiz was best known for his celebrations after a teammate hit a walk-off where he would splash the Gatorade tray on them. It was always exciting to watch those guys go crazy!
Recently, Chisenhall was with the Pittsburgh Pirates organization. In the last two years, he never made it to the big leagues with them.
It is without question that the best game of Lonnie’s career came in 2014 when he had five hits (three home runs) and nine runs batted in against the Texas Rangers. The RBI tied a franchise record. Enjoy those highlights here:
Hats off to a great career and best of luck in your future endeavors, Lonnie BASEBALL Chisenhall.
