Know your staff writers a little better
Hello, everyone! My name’s Nick, and I’m going to be writing some game recaps for you all now. I’m graduating college this year, and I’ve been a Guardians fan for a couple of years now. I grew up going to & watching games all the time, but I stopped watching sports for a while after 2016 (the World Series being unrelated). Then, in 2022, I would come home from work every day right around the time of first pitch, and I just fell in love with the sport. (Not to worry, I’ve brought myself up-to-date on all things Guardians that I may have missed over those 6 years).
I’ve been an avid fan since, and I try to watch all 162 (and try to go to at least 5) games every season. Originally, I just watched Guardians games, but since the start of last season, my love for the sport has morphed into something else entirely. Now, I try to absorb as much analytical information as possible, and I adopted a second team (the Mets) back in 2023. While I’m not nearly as knowledgeable about those analytics as many of the other writers, I’ve been trying to catch up for the time I missed not watching the sport for all those years.
Outside of baseball, I’m a political science major, and I plan on applying to law schools in the fall. I’ve always had a major interest in American politics, which was the focus of my major. Last thing, apart from the mainstays of this Guardians team, my favorite players are — in no particular order — Angel Martinez, Bo Naylor, Erik Sabrowski, and Franco Aleman (a prospect, technically, but still one of my favorites in the organization). Anyway, that’s enough about me, so please read my first game recap after tonight’s game!
