The Clippers managed just five hits but four of them were for extra bases. Petey Halpin and Jhonkensy Noel both homered while Christian Cairo went 2-for-4 with a double, a hit by pitch and a stolen base and Milan Tolentino doubled and walked.
Starting pitcher Aaron Davenport allowed three runs on six hits with five strikeouts and one walk in 5.0 innings.
Trevor Stephan had a brutal outing, allowing four runs in just 0.1 innings with two walks and two hits. Franco Aleman and Matt Krook both had a scoreless inning of relief.

Richmond scored seven runs despite collecting just four hits. That’s because Akron pitchers walked a whopping 13 batters on the day.
Tommy Mace had an ugly day on the mound, allowing four runs (two earned) on just one hit but he walked seven and struck out two. Zane Morehouse walked three more.
Offensively, Jorge Burgos was the only RubberDuck to reach base safely twice, going 1-for-3 with a walk. Khalil Watson tripled and Jonah Advincula doubled.
Lake County Captains 5, West Michigan Whitecaps 2

Lake County went 5-for-10 with runners in scoring position to pull out a solid victory. Christian Knapczyk went 2-for-4 with a hit by pitch and Ralphy Velazquez, Jacob Cozart, Jose Devers and Luis Rivas all doubled.
Jaison Chourio also walked twice and stole a base.
Starting pitcher Yorman Gomez pitched 5.2 shutout innings with three strikeouts, four walks and three hits allowed. Tyler Naquin earned his first hold with a scoreless 0.1 innings.
Michael Kennedy tried to finish off the game but came up one out shy, giving up two runs on four hits in 2.2 innings, although he did strike out five.

Five Lynchburg players had multi-hit games. Nick Mitchell did a great job doing a Tommy Hawk impression from the leadoff position, going 2-for-4 with a walk and two stolen bases.
Welbyn Francisca went 2-for-5 with a stolen base, Luis Merejo went 2-for-4 with two doubles. Yaikel Mijares went 3-for-4 with a double and a stolen base and Garrett Howe went 2-for-4.
Starting pitcher Melkis Hernandez allowed one run on five hits in 4.2 innings with one strikeout and three walks. Donovan Zsak earned the win with a scoreless inning of relief.
