The Guardians staged a big comeback yesterday after Slade Cecconi’s first hiccup as a starter here and beat the Angels 7-5. Zach has your recap here.
Nic Enright had a good outing (shocking at least one commenter here who seemed to be suggesting that Enright should have retired after his debut segment?). Big for the Guardians as Andrew Walters will be out for a while with a lat strain. It could have been worse for Walters, so hopefully he makes a full recovery.
Logan Allen looked really good in the bullpen… we should leave him there.
Angels’ manager Ron Washington had an all-time great quote when yelling for Kyle Hendriks to intentionally walk Jose Ramirez (who saw three pitches in the zone and hit all three extremely hard) “Don’t even BLEEP with him”:

Will Brennan is seeking a second opinion on forearm tightness which generally means Tommy John is coming. Sorry for him and hoping for a full recovery, as well.
The Guardians welcomed David Fry back to the roster with Lane Thomas going on the IL.
The Guardians had a nice season ticket holder event yesterday where fans could come and meet players and coaches on the warning track and take photos (for free if they had a ticket for Saturday’s game). It doesn’t replace GuardsFest, which is for everyone, but it was nice to take my six year-old and get a chance for him to interact with the team.
We are excited to announce a new Sunday series here at Covering the Corner. With a former site favorite writer who had a Sunday column moving on to bigger and better things in life, we have brought on Mario Crescibene who will be providing creative writing pieces on the Guardians, and doing so in English and Spanish. Look for Mario’s first front page (he has been working in the FanPosts) piece at 10am today. Welcome to CTC, Mario!
Shane Bieber had a successful debut in Arizona, going two and a third innings allowing one hit and striking out five. He’ll need at LEAST four more outings, probably a few more, before being ready to return to Cleveland.
Brent Messett had a good thread about some adjustments Nolan Jones seems to be making as he finds more success (for those without Twitter, he’s becoming less passive and trying to target fastballs):
Don’t look now
Nolan Jones is hitting .324 over his last 13 games but that’s not the best part.
He’s taken 0 walks in his last 19
Doesn’t make sense? It’s actually quite simple.
Allow me to explain
