The Guardians won last night, 4-2, behind an excellent Luis Ortiz start and a good second inning from the offense. Zach has your recap here.
I discovered that entering last night, Ortiz had a 10.29 ERA in the second inning and a 3.36 ERA in every other inning. He had a scoreless second and, so, didn’t give up a run in the game. Seems like he just needs to settle in a little quicker.
Kyle Manzardo had three hits and I am going to be so disappointed when Stephen Vogt sits him today because a left-hander is on the mound. They need to stop platooning their best hitters. Daniel Schneemann went 0 for 4 on some of bad BABIP; everything he hit was ALMOST a hit (only one was hit particularly hard, however). Jose Ramirez also had three singles.
One more game and then I can stress about whether or not they will call up Chase DeLauter on Tuesday (of course they won’t).
