News and Notes for Thursday, May 15th, 2025.

The Cleveland Guardians dropped a game against the Milwaukee Brewers, but took the series. The bullpen struggled and gave up the lead to the Brewers, but don’t let that distract you from the fact that José Ramírez hit a 420ft bomb as a DH. Full recap can be read here.

The Guardians have hired former Cleveland great, Corey Kluber to take on the role of Special Assistant – Pitching. I am beyond excited to see what Kluber can do with the pitching staff and the Guardians future ace, Tanner Bibee.

Outfielder Jaison Chourio, Cleveland’s #3 prospect, has been placed on the 7-day IL and with right shoulder discomfort and is predicted to return late May/early June.

Travis Bazzana, Cleveland’s #1 prospect, left Game 2 of Wednesday’s double header in the 4th inning after hitting a double. There’s been no word at the time of writing if there is an issue or if it was something small.

Travis Bazzana left game 2 for Akron this afternoon in the 4th inning after this double. No word on why yet.

Vaguely looks like something in the core area, but hard to tell. Left with trainers.

The Guardians have an off day today before taking on former Cleveland skipper, Tito Francona and the Cincinnati Reds.

Around the League:

Despite back-to-back jacks, including a grand slam from Cedric Mullins, the Twins swept the Orioles in Wednesday’s doubleheader. The Twins are now on a 10-game win streak just one series removed from their home series against the Guardians.

The Red Sox have put Tanner Houck on the IL with a flexor pronator strain in his right forearm.
